    Formatting Dates

    I am having problems with dates.
    I have an array the first element of which is a date formatted 11/03/2012.
    I need to compare this with a variable, Todate, loaded with todays date. I have tried to use

    but there is never an equality with an element of the array even though they may have the same date.
    Now includes time as well as the date and I suspect this is the problem. Will formatting sort this out? I have not found a way yet.

    You need date, not now.
