fill input box range with keyboard selection

Is there a way to allow keyboard input to specify a range for an input box?

Not typing an address but, say, clicking a cell and using keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + shift + down or shift + end + down) to specify the range.

Have tried application.inputbox (Type 8) and a userform with a refedit control. Either works fine using the mouse and curiously works with the keyboard in Excel 2010 but the user is unable to use the keyboard in 2007. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

When you say "specify a range", do you mean a CELL range(like A1:B2)??

if neither of those work then I think the answer is no. is the copy of 2007 up to date with all the fixes and service pack 3?
