HELP! Taking information from an E-mail and applying to cells.

Pretty much what the title says: my friend and I WERE looking to create a program in C# for a friend/client, who runs a sales business - however, we feel it would be a LOT easier if this was done with cell formulas. 1 downfall though: we know nothing about Excel.

This friend sells books over Amazon, as well as in store. He frequently receives E-mail (Gmail/Google-Mail) from Amazon informing him that several of his books have been ordered/dispatched, and is given a stock code, which he then copies into a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. The format of the E-mails is always the same, except obviously the name of the book and the unique stock number.

What I is a bit of code or formulae which will take the said stock code and paste it into the appropriate cells in his Spreadsheet whenever he loads up either the spreadsheet or the E-mail.

    ANY help would be appreciated!

    Any takers?

    Hi coggj002,

    Welcome to the forum.

Share a sample file containing some emails... While replying, click on Go Advanced and look for a paper clip icon to attach the sample file. Thanks.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I'll get the guy to forward me one of the E-mails, and then post the details on the next Post. However, I don't have a copy of his spreadsheet yet! Would you like me to get a copy of this? I'll have to get his permission, and remove personal sections etc.

EDIT: this may take a day or two, as the client is not currently connected to the Internet. Is there any way a solution could be made without an example E-mail? the code would be displayed like:

    from amazon to client

Stock Code: #12345 //Only an example of Stock code.

This needs to be taken and pasted into a spreadsheet whenever the E-mail or spreadsheet is opened.

    Hi coggj002,

Ok... the process is -> Amazon sends the order details via email to your friend and then your friend process this information onto a spreadsheet and you need help with spreadsheet part?

I would need to see what information he gets from Amazon and in which format he want to store this information into spreadsheet.. hope this clarifies. Thanks.
