Next occurance of any date + 2 weeks

    Hello!

I'm not sure why I'm having such a hard time with this. I have a field I have to have populated with the next occurance of any date given, plus 2 weeks.

Example: date in the past = 8/01/2007, output should read 8/15/2012
future date - 3/01/2012, output should read 3/15/2012.

How in the world to I make Excel do this? Please help! I'm going to drive myself crazy.

    Try with: =A1+14
Never use Merged Cells in Excel

I think there needs to be a formula to encorporate the difference in years. If you just do the cell with the date + 14, it keeps it within that year. It can't even be the current year... if the date is 01/15/2012, then the output field needs to read 01/30/2013.

"If you just do the cell with the date + 14, it keeps it within that year..."
No it doesnt, not always. It adds 14 days to the date specified and if that is a new year then the year will change.

You seem to be contradicting yourself.

    In your first example

"Example: date in the past = 8/01/2007, output should read 8/15/2012"
you've added 14 days and changed the year - no reason given.

    Your next example
"future date - 3/01/2012, output should read 3/15/2012"
youve added 14 days and retained the year - no reason given.

    In your last example
"01/15/2012, then the output field needs to read 01/30/2013"
you've added 15 days (which is it 14 or 15 days?) and changed the year - no reason given.

You need to clarify if it's 14 or 15 days ALWAYS added and to explain under what circumstances you retain or don't wish to retain the year.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

sorry, it's always 14 days. The year is not the next sequential year, it's the next time we physically will reach that date. If the next sequential year of that date is also in the past, it needs to be made in the future.

If you think about it like a birthday... If you've already had your birthday this year, the next birthday will be 2013. If your 15th birthday was in 1990, your next birthday will still be in 2013... I'm trying to find the next anniversary date for employees, so I don't care about past dates, just the next one we will see. Does that help? I appreciate your thoughts!
