Update pivots from cell

Hello,

I have a VBA question with which I hope you can help me.

I have three charts on sheet “Charts”. These charts are linked to three pivot tables in sheet “Pivots”.

I have created a drop-down menu on cell E3 in sheet “Charts”.

I would like all three pivot tables on sheet “Pivots” to update based on cell E3 in sheet “Charts”.

The pivot tables are called PivotTable2, PivotTable3 and PivotTable4.

In the pivots, the field I would like to filter is “Refinery Name” (this is a Report Filter on PivotTable3 and a Row Label on PivotTable2 and PivotTable4).

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Hi QuickQ and welcome to the forum,

I have an example of 3 pivot tables on a single sheet that update based on any of the filters changing. Perhaps you can look at the code behind this example and see how it works to solve your problem.

Hi Marvin. I looked at the spreadsheet. I see the similarities, but the set-up is different enough, such that I'm not sure I'm at a level in VBA where I can just look at this code and make changes. It seems that you have incorporated a concept of "current sheet" which wouldn't work for me as the refresh is made based on a cell on another sheet, and your refresh is based on the reference to one of the pivot filters themselves whereas I am trying to refresh the pivot based on a cell on a different sheet. I do, however appreciate your help.

Thank you Marvin. I know it is not easy without the file. That is why I tried supplying as much information as I could. I don't own this spreadsheet (I'm just updating it) and I don't have permission to share it. I apologize.
