    Keep data in sheet 6 if data entry sheets 1-4 change

    Hi,

    I have a workbook which contains 6 worksheets, The first 4 sheets are data sheets, which is cut/paste from an external source. Sheet 5 contains the information I require from these 4 data sheets going across each row/column. When I update the 4 data sheets the information auto changes on sheet 5 so for example sheet 5 a1 =sheet4,b2. Sheet 6 has a similar layout but I want the data that is inputted to stay the same when I update the other 4 sheets and after update, I require the data to move across 1 column.

    Is this possible??

    If you require more information or a dummy workbook please ask, I've spent 14 hours googling and checking various forums for the answer with no luck.

    I Can't Believe that there are so many excel experts out there and no one can help me or have the DECENCY to reply with an answer, if it cant be done say so!!!!!!!

    Trust me on this, Imranh, you don't get help by questioning the decency of the volunteers that come here to help people. Notice I said "volunteers." Everyone here, including the moderating team, is a volunteer that gives their time freely to help others.

    Seeing as one of the rules here is to not post in a thread that contains a moderator request, I can understand why you weren't getting much attention recently. My request has now been removed, so others may respond.

    In the future use a good thread title, supply sample data or a workbook, ask politely and clearly, and be patient.

    Hi, Is there anybody who can help me, I've managed to get a vlookup working in each cell, what I think i need to do now is record a macro which will copy and paste special (values) the column thus leaving the required data in the cell then move across to the next cell and paste the same formula and keep repeating?

    Thank you and sorry for the confusion, to clarify, i have a work book with 6 sheets. The first 4 are data sheets in which i import weekly figures from an external source, this information then gets sorted and auto enters into the 5th sheet (output) the 6th sheet is a weekly ongoing tracker. The information from sheet 1 goes into this.So ignore for a moment all sheets except from sheet 1 and 6. When i update the weekly sales figures, what i require is the data to move across 1 column on sheet 6, thus keeping all previous weeks data. I figured that i needed to input a vlookup on each cell moving down the column, so it will find the corresponding data from sheet 1, what i want to be able to do now is create a macro so that when i update sheet 1 the information moves across 1 column and places it in there without losing the previous weeks. I hope that is clear enough, if not please ask again and i'll try explaining it better, i know its very complicated what i'm trying to achieve but your help is appreicated.

    Hello imranh_1979. I've been reviewing your sample workbook for about 10 minutes and am still not clear on what you're trying to accomplish. You've said to ignore all but sheets 1 and 6 but there seem to be no links or key fields between tabs 1 and 6. My best guess is that you probably only need to include some keys in your data and you'll be able to set up some VLOOKUPS or INDEX & MATCH formulas to get what you need. Even with macros you'll probably want to have your data more in table format (using keys) in order to simplify writing the macro.

    okay then lets say i have 5 rows and 10 columns. the first column has a formula (vlookup) from the data sheet, when i update the data sheet, i need the information in the first column to stay the same but the formula to move across 1 column and so on when i update it
