saving files without invalid characters

Dear All,

I am preparing files with a macro. At the end I save them under a new name, their names come from a master table as strings, which unfortunately may contain characters which cannot be used in file names.
Does anybody knows a convenient solution which prevents the macro stopping and convert the filename-string into a new one without (;6 etc.

an automatic name would be also fine just like "undefined.xlsx"
