    Hi,

I don't believe so. (Famous last words).

Shared workbooks are in my opinion just a pain in the backside and cause all sorts of problems, far in excess of any dubious benefits they provide. Try and avoid them.

If you're using them because you want to consolidate data, then let users have their own copies of a workbook and use a master consolidation workbook to loop round the various files and accumulate any data you want.

File has data input continualy throughout day by 2/3 operators who save entries as they go along.

If they tried to open file for same day would they not just get the error file locked for editing ?

If a master consolidation file was used to loop / gather data could it be made able to distinguish by day ie user opens his copy puts in day they're working on (info gathered) then if he was to open another copy to say work on tomorrow that would go to tomorrows consolidation file?

Unfortunately sheet format has to remain but could a "form" the operator uses (would have to have autocomplete) be used to populate the shared workbook.

Re: share worksheet conflict with code

I have tried having the workbook, with no code inserted, shared and having another workbook open at the same time, with the code, but not shared. No luck as yet

I have also posted this question here http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=666119, I hope this complies with forum rules
