    Macro names

    Morning all

I have just noticed that somtimes a macro is shown in the macro dialog box (ALT + F8)
    are somtimes shown like this:

    Workbookname.xla!macro_name.macro name

    rather than the macro name

why is this and how can i make it so they all show up the same?
I dont like to use code i dont understand
it makes it hard to use in other situations
so please try to be as clear and patent as possible with me

    Criticism is welcomed

    Re: Macro names

That happens when you have several workbooks open, to let you know wich workbook the macro's associated with.

yes but not all of the macros have the workbook name perfix.
    only a few do.
i would expect all or none to have it.

    Re: Macro names

Those macro's associated with the active workbook do not have the prefixes.
Those macros from unactive open workbooks have!

    Re: Macro names

My thoughts exactly, but this was not the case.
I think I may have sorted it now.

Could it have had somthinig to do with the fact that my module and my macro had identical names?
