SaveAs fileformat to save as 2003 from either 03 or 07

Hi,

I've been using fileformat:=xlExcel8 to save as a 2003 file and this workd when using '07 but fails when using '03. Can I just save as filename.xls without specifying the fileformat or would this cause problems? If so than how can I do it better please?
