I'd be glad to tackle this, but forum rules are that you MUST enclose your code in code brackets so it will display properly.

well i have attached the ITV Report.xls its a sample from my main report and i want to move the data that i select in the genset sheet as u know that we select range with a mouse as well so that should move to the active worksheet DATABASE.xls Sheet 1 (complete-database) only the selected do add the option of multiple selection pls
The Database.xls will have all the same cell names as in the ITV Report.xls
the difference is that ITV report is based on daily updates and Database.xls will be for all the activities
Sample-ITV Report.xls
this is the Sample of database.xls my main report is of 6mb that why i didnt sent u the complete report only the sample so u can understand the scenarioITV-DATABASE.xls
Do you want to copy just the selected cells, or all the data to the left and right of the selection as well?

It sounds to me like you want to allow selections of multiple, not necessarily sequential records, copy those, and paste them in the first available row in the Database.xls workbook. This code, slightly modified from what I posted above, will do this. Note that it requires the Database.xls workbook to be open. Run the code from the ITV-Database.xls workbook.
Just place the above code in a code module in your ITV-Database.xls workbook.![]()

Thanks for your kind words! You might invest in the Excel 2010 Bible available through amazon.com. I'd also run a search on VBA. I don't own any references and am mostly self taught, so I can't vouch for how good any of it is.
Could you consider marking your post solved?
Thanks!
Tom
