    Maintainance planning predictive serviceing

    i am a fairly basic user of Excel and i am looking for some help with a formula

    i have just started a new job as a maintainance planner

    what i need to do is predict serviceing of machines over the next year

    the first service is sorted using these formulas
    if the current hours vs the next service fall with in these values Due appears in the box under the date this will predict the first service

    =IF(C7<=24,"DUE","")
    =IF(AND(C7>=24,C7<=48),"DUE"
    =IF(AND(C7>=48,C7<=72),"DUE",""
    and so on

    what i need is to predict future services over a time line

    services are due in intervels of 250hrs

    i hope this is clear any help would be appreciated

    Regards

    Re: Maintainance planning predictive serviceing

    Step away from your problem and look at the three formulas you showed us with new eyes. Independently they're fine, but taken as a whole, it appears as if the result should be "DUE" pretty much all the time... any value from 0-72 is technically within the range depicted by all 3 formulas.

    So, you really need to show us what is going in context with your actual workbook, you'll save us time and save yourself wasted questions.

    Load up a stripped down version of your workbook that still has the same layout, but manually layout 3-5 rows of examples showing what you are trying to "automate". Color the cell(s) you put in manual values to that you want assistance automating, and explain the manual values if it's not evident by the data your sheet provides.

    Click GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to post up a copy of your workbook.
