Question Excel file creation dates do not match the windows creation date.

I need to use the creation date of a file to control what value goes into a cell. that part of the routine works correctly. however if a file is coppied the date_created I get from the segment of code is still the creation date of the old excel file. But the Windows proporties shows the creation date as the time it was copied. do yall have any input on how to get the windows creation date?

You would need to use the filesystem for that. As far as the workbook is concerned, its creation date has not changed.

That is what I ended up doing. At first it wasnt working but that is because of a misplaced space in part of one of the names. Thanks for confiming what I had assumed though.
