You would probably want to use a message box for showing an error because an input box is for user inputs.

wierd one...........i fixed some other part of my code and "bam" it started working......still dont know why .......other than possibly before the fix i was referencing something that had a differnt data type..........to be honest i still dont understand....
thanks for your help though.
i think the issue was the "prompt" text was too long. I think the max # characters is 256 or something like that.
