Macro for linking cells from different rows to a specific place on other worksheets

    Hello,

This is my first time posting in this forum, but I have read it for some time and have found it very helpful.

I work for a county government in Florida and have a lot of data I need to organize.

Here is the Excel workbook with which I am needing assistance:

    http://www.volusia.org/green/2010 Pr...ergy Data.xlsm

I need to run a macro which will individually "paste link" the first four column fields on the first "Overview" worksheet, to the corresponding location on each associated worksheet (A3 through A6).

I need to be able to input the information for each account row on the "Overview" sheet and have it automatically fill in the information on each account's detailed worksheet.

Is this possible? I have over 360 accounts to organize and it will take weeks if I cannot find a macro to assist.

Thank you so much for any input.

    Richard

    Hi Welcome to the Forum...

Here is a mini version of your spreadsheet.

See if this will work for you...

Anytime you put information in a cell it will transfer to the correct worksheet. This example only has 4 worksheets but you can see how it works.

Let me know if you need some changes.

Thanks Mike. I was able to use the first macro here (http://www.rondebruin.nl/summary.htm) to do the reverse of what I needed, or link data on each worksheet back to the main summary worksheet. I guess this is just as good.

Now I have to manually enter data from our utility provider's website, one line item at a time. This is going to take all week or more There's no way to have Excel navigate to a website, sign in, and copy and paste select data, is there?

    Thanks for your help!

It possible, but I'm not expert on that. I have had success doing the process but it took me some time. If it is something your going to do over and over again then it may be worth the time spent to find code and change it to make it work. However if it's a one time thing it may be better just to go about it.

Anyway best advise I have is to google up vba and Internet explorer and look for some examples and try to fit together what you can. Post back here any issues and someone will try to help you out. Post as much information as you can to help the coders see what you see.

    Good Luck,

    Good Luck,
I've taken a look at automating vba and internet explorer, but it seems like it'll be very difficult to do.

    Oh well.

    Thanks!
