handicap total

Hi there a newbie here. I have a spreadsheet im trying to figure out for a horseshoe league. I have a handicap column with about 5 or 6 players and thier handicaps. but I need to total only 4 of the handicaps each game. Just the ones that play that game. I think its in the If formula but now sure how to do that. can anyone email me and Ill send the sheet to them and they can see if they can figure it out. any help is great

Ok I will try and put my sheet up in this Im not sure how its done but will give it a try.

any help would be great.
