    Hotkey macros

    In Excel 7

I used to be able to create a hotkey for macro that was "Ctrl-Shift-XXX" or Ctrl-Alt-XXX", or some other derivation. now it only appears to accept "Ctrl-xxx". and creating a macro does not protect "Ctrl-C" or any of those other protected hotkey functions.

How do I get Excel 2007 to accept a wider variety of hotkey options?

Is there anyway to protect the hotkey options that ought to be protected?

    Re: Hotkey macros

It should still accept those shortcuts (note: don't hold the Ctrl key - that's assumed)
You cannot prevent the built in keys from being overridden.

    Re: Hotkey macros

As far as I can see, you only get the Ctrl-x option in Excel 2003 in the same way as you do im 2007.

When you start to record a macro, there's only the Ctrl option visible. However, if you press the shift key whilst you press the letter of choice, it then appears as Ctrl-Shift-x

I'd be interested in knowing how it's done, although I don't tend to use short-cut keys for macros ... there are too many to remember as it is.
