Can anyone advise why this won't work please.

I have dim's for LastDate and NewDate further up the macro.

If I step through the macro and hover over LastDate I get 090511 and New Date 160511 which is right. They are not actually dates but a portion of a filename.

So I have a column of data which is linked to a file called 090511 Summary and I have copied the cells across one column and tried to replace the 090511 part with 160511 but it just stays as 090511.
