Header Macro - Last Edit Date

A user wants a macro button that will create a header (or footer) that shows the last date a file was edited. She will settle for last date saved if that's easier. Any ideas as to the code? The only code I've seen wants it as a private sub in This Workbook and that's not consistent with a macro (on the QAT) that works with existing files.

This macro will add a header on the right side of the active sheet of the active workbook when printed with the date the file was last modified.
