    multiple colums of data onto a single cell on a diferent page

    Hi, I'm a newbie and have a problem. I have a multi page worksheet in excel 2010 where i want to tabulate data on one sheet and place it in a cell on the next sheet using data from a 3rd column as a filter. on page one I have column B which is the date the item sold, column c is the amount it sold for, on page 2 I have a cell for each month. what I want to do is set up a formula that says if the cell in column B says June then the adjoining cell in column c will be added to all the other cells in column b that say June and be totaled on page 2 in the appropriate months cell, thus giving me the total for June in that cell. confused yet? I am, any help will be appreciated.

    Could you post an example? I'm finding it hard to understand exactly what you need.

    Would a simple IF formula suffice?

    I'll Try to give a better example. On page1 one of my spreadsheet I have all my sales listings, so say I sell 25 items 10 in April , 10 in may and 5 in June. on page 2 of the spreadsheet I have cells labeled Jan Feb ect,
    I am looking for a formula that will search the date range on page 1 , say for the month of May- then take all the sales from that date range , total them and put the total in the may month cell on page two
    so Page one would be column A sale price Column B would be the date and on page 2 there would be a cell May that would get the total. by taking the page 1 column b date range and adding the price cells associated with those dates.
