use auto_open then delete auto_open how?

I am close - not quite there.
I plan to use XP Task Scheduler to open Workbook1 - with auto_open macro the auto_open macro has the refresh workbook command
I am thinking not test yet -
auto_open macro will execute another macro that will delete auto_open macro and save the workbook as Workbook2 and close the Excel Application.
Then my Outlook scheduler will open Workbook2 and email to the distribution list.
    Would this be possible?
    Thx

Instead of deleting macros etc ... why not just have the Scheduler run a VBS script. The Script then opens excels and then does all the calls on what ever you want done to sheet and then saves/closes the workbook.

Re: use auto_open then not have it run

I am trying this approach put a value in a field then the next open sees the value and does not refresh or save the workbook off.

But I am have syntax trouble. Can anyone help me format this right?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
    Hope that helps.
