    match two columns and sort

Hi I have the following records: I combined two excell sheets and need to match the account number in column A with the account number in column E and then sort them by account number to come up with a sort that has just the account number and company name listed once:

Acct# Cust Balance Inv# Acct# Cust Event Notes

    So it comes out like:

    Acct# Cust Balance Event Notes
    15 ABC CO 15.00 called
    emailed
    request for payment

    25 ED Co 25.00 called

    30 XYZ Co 10.00

and so on.......... Is there a macro that can do this?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
