Exclamation How to populate city/state based on telephone number

So I spent 10 hours working on this media list that is about 5000 contacts long.

I have about 5000 phone numbers in Column A. ALL I need is for column B to tell me what City, State those phone numbers are from. Is there any easy formula I can add to have column B populate the city and state based on the telephone number I have provided?

I'm on a strict deadline when I noticed this major screw up. Any help you can provide would help this intern out so much! I've exhausted all my resources in office by the way and nobod has been able to help.

Do you have a list of any sort to match up to?

If you have a list of say area codes with cities/states, then you can use formulas to get from that list...

Here it is. I have a feeling its not doable.

I need the city and state populated in Column I based on the telephone number from Column F.

Thank you thank you thank you.

    Hello ,

    Welcome to the Forum!

Do you have a table of area codes with the cities and state? If not I found a listing here that can could easily be made into a look up table.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

Re: How to populate city/state based on telephone number

Thank you for the welcome! I'm excited to be a part of this forum!

I'll try to be a bit more specific.

I have a full list of about 5000 contacts that I exported from a program used to search for media contacts.

During the search I forgot to export the city and states associated with the phone numbers I’m attaching. To redo the search would take about 8 hours.

I was hoping there is some way to have excel auto populate the city and state associated with the phone number and area codes in column A. The city and state would just need to be in column B. I know this sounds complicated, but I appreciate your time. Very much so.
