    Re: if statement help

Select column J range to affect and go to Format|Conditional Formatting and select Formula Is from drop down menu.

    enter formula:

    =COUNTIF($E2:$G2,"Yes")=3

where E2:G2 are coincident with the top most row in J you selected

Then click Format and choose Red from Pattern Tab.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Hello banmenow,

Are you aware that your questions and the sample workbook don't match?
i am working on a project for my boss and i need a simple if then statement to turn another cell red. how would i turn column "J" red if question 4 is yes and question five is yes and question 6 is yes.
Question 5 is ""5) If No, What type of water softener do you have?". Clearly, this is not a yes or no question.

Column "J" is completely empty. Why would you need a cell this column to be red?
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
