Question Expanding Worksheet Not Sure if possible

I have a worksheet that has six pages that data can be entered into, on the bottom of the sixth page there are formulas for the total of 4 Columns

    My question is

Is there anyway to only have one page which data can be entered into and once this page is full it will add another page. my problem at the moment is that if I only have 1 page with data in it when i print the worksheet it prints the first page and 5 additional blank pages. If this can be done can the total of columns on the last sheet be on the bottom of the number of pages printed.

I hope this makes sense as it is hard to put into words

    Mooseman,

Maybe it would be easier to come up with a small sample file to illustrate your issue. It's a bit hard to picture what you need.

Would it be possible to change your layout of your worksheet and put the "Total Fields" at the top of your file, that way you only have to print the part of the page that you need, using the Page Set up screen?

Re: Expanding Worksheet Not Sure if possible

Why do you need to do this. Using Excel 2007 you can convert your data to a Table which will expand as you add data & you can turn on the feature that adds a Total Row at the botom
    Hope that helps.

Mooseman, don't change a post that has received replies. It breaks the sequence and logic of responses. If you want to change or amend your question, do so in a post withing the thread, but don't change the initial question.

I have restored the initial question.

Re: Expanding Worksheet Not Sure if possible

In Excel 2003 you can use an Excel list and display the totals. The list will expand when you add new data items and the totals will update automatically.

In Excel 2007 you can insert a table, and again, insert a total row, which will update dynamically.

    cheers,

Ok I understand what you are saying. It was just that I hadn't received any replies and I thought the way I had worded it might have been confusing to people. I now know what to do next time I want to change my question

    Thanks

Re: Expanding Worksheet Not Sure if possible

Not sure what you mean about an expanding list. Why do I have to have data saved to a list. I need to be able to view the data in the worksheet as it is being entered and change the material price or labour price if necessary. Once I have finished my quotation I need to be able to print this worksheet so it prints out as exactly as you see it on the screen.

So are you saying it is not possible to insert another row and copy the formulas down automatically so that there is always a blank row on the bottom

Click a cell in your table, then Insert ribbon > Table

Tick Total row on the Table Tools ribbon that appears when the active cell is within a table.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing here. I am using Excel 2003 and don't have a table. It is just a standard worksheet. Isn't there some code I can run so that as soon as any data is inserted in Cell B22 or C22 another row automatically inserts

Re: Expanding Worksheet Not Sure if possible

I've selected the "input area" (row 19 to 22) and used Data | List | Create List (my list has headers checked) to convert the data to a List.

You will find that if you type in the last row of the list it will add a row.

You need to tweak the total formulae so that they include the new rows.

And, if you choose to repeat rows 1 to 18 and insert a page number in the footer, you should have a multi-page estimate ... oh, and remove the Page Break.

I'm a bit concerned about the macros you have running as something is slowing this down significantly.

Just one other thing you might be able to help me with. Tthe cells in the A Coloumn have code so when double clicked they open up a userform. Is there away to disable them and just make the cell in A coloumn on the totals row do the above and obviously as the rows keep increasing the code will keep moving down a row
