Sharepoint and Excel - RSS, XML?

    Hi,

I am not sure if this is a question for a Sharepoint Forum or Excel.

I have a list of information on Sharepoint. Within Sharepoint you are able to 'View RSS Feed'. This then displays an XML page of the information.

Is it possible, within excel, to create a macro or some element of programming that can extract the information from the XML page (RSS Feed). Ideally, I would only require a few fields from the XML page and NOT all the information, though I am not even sure it is possible.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Karo

This is probably more suited to a SharePoint forum. It would also help to know if you are using WSS, MOSS or SharePoint 2010. Also, it would help to know which fields from the XML you are after.

    Hi,

It's WSS 3.0. Attached is the RSS feed page and the two worksheets to which I would like excel to apply the data to.

    In Worksheet1,
    - I would like excel to place the 'Composed Title' from the RSS feed into the 'Project Name' field.
    - I would like the Day priority percentage to be placed into the percentage fields. This would depend on the 'Date' range for how it populates the field. i.e. The RSS Feed shows the start Date of 03/12/2010 and End Date of 31/08/2011 therefore I would like excel to Auto populate the Date range and then apply the 10% to that range.

    In Worksheet2
    - I would like excel to extract the 'SAL Forecast Effort into the SAL - Effort field.

    Again, I appreciate your assistance.
