Entry Validation alphanumeric, space, fullstop & comma only

I require worksheet cell data entry validation to permit alphanumeric, space, fullstop & comma characters entry only.
To prevent entry of special characters ()<>_-+=[]{}\|"';:!@##$%^&* cr lf etc etc
Ideally a formula to add to cell validation.
At worst a UDF.
Any help would be appreciated.

What you want to do can be done easily with Regular Expressions. If this can be done using formulae, I would be interested in seeing how it can be accomplished.
