Automatically close workbook on or after certain date

I have a workbook that I want to expire on a certain date. I would like for the workbook to simply close itself (or in some other way be rendered unusable) if it is opened on or after a certain date. This way the user would not be able to use the workbook after this date. My users are very untechnical, so this would work just fine for my security issue. Is this possible.

I tried this and it WILL close the workbook. But it closes it even if the >date set in the code is in the future. If the >date is 10/21/10 and I save and reopen, it closes even though today's date is 10/18/10. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello rkjudy,

When comparing dates it is best to use a 4 digit year to avoid possible confusion. The argument for the CDate function can either be a string or a number that represents a system recognized date. Change your code to this...
