Macro to open a file and search based on condition

Hi,

Would there be a way for macro to open a document and search within a document based on condition written in a cell? Please take a look at the attachement below. I wanted to see if I could find a macro that will check whether the RIC code is present in the document based on the "start date"

For example. I click 24hour check button. I select the no, or RIC, or Company any one of those and click the "check" box. This will initiate a search which will open a document based on the start date. I know this sounds vague but I first want to see if this would be possible. Thanks again guys.
