    Formula to match active cell

    I am entering data in column E
    I need cell B5 to match the value of the active cell in column E as I am entering data.

    Is there a formula that can do that?

    No, there is no way for a formula to know which is the active cell. Additionally, Excel doesn't calculate cells until you finish entering data in a cell. The best you could do is use VBA to enter the value (or a linked cell) in B5 after you finish data entry on a cell in column E.
    Is your code running too slowly?
    Does your workbook or database have a bunch of duplicate pieces of data?
