    Inserting Rows error

Hi. I'm getting a Run-time 1004 error when trying to insert 3 blank lines (it pops up at the first "Insert" line). Excel is complaining about shifting non-blank cells off the page, but doing "CTRL-END" highlights cell D198, which is the extent of my data, so I don't understand the problem. The step before this was copying a pivot table, pasting as values, then pasting as formats. Any help on fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, John

    Re: Inserting Rows error

    Hello jomili,

This errors occurs when a formula has been added to the entire worksheet, or if formatting (such as a borders or colored cells) have been added to an entire column or row. Remove these from the first cell past your data to the end of the row or column.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Re: Inserting Rows error

I understand what you're saying, but not necessarily how it applies in this situation. I create a new sheet, copy the pivot table (Tablerange1) from another sheet, do a pastespecial values, pastespecial format, so at the point I'm inserting lines no other formatting has taken place. My one formula was only for the range A4:A200. I got it working by rearranging things a bit.
