    Multiuser application

    Hi guys

This is my first application developed in excel means both Frontend and Backend are Excel. Earlier I used to use Access as a backend always. Because of my cleints requirements I developed it all in excel but the problem is it does not support multiuser capability. If I use shared workbook concept and two users use it simutaneously then at the end it asks "Accept all mine or Accept all others" kind of message. So not able to save both users data in the same sheet.

Can anyone please guide me what shall I do in this case.

    Thanks

    Good morning Nancy123

This is a follow up question to this one, where you were advised the potential pitfalls of using Excel as a multiuser system.

It doesn't work satisfactorily, and the error message you are getting is the result. There is really no transparent workaround (within Excel at any rate), other than what Richard suggested.

    Re: Multiuser application

I'm guessing this is a continuation of this thread.

Without knowing more about what your application does it's hard to give specific advice.

If you continue to use shared workbooks you will almost certainly run into problem with corrupted data and user conflicts unless it is the most basic of applications (which will still need tlc probably).

Your options are really limited to users working on individual spreadsheets and then consolidating them, using Excel as the front end to an Access database or forgetting Excel completely and doing the whole thing in Access.
