    Selecting a column range based

    Hi guys,

    Trying select a range from a point x in a column to the the last empty cell above it.

    I think I need another variable to count how many rows I have gone down but can't get my head quite around how to achieve this.

    As you can see in the sample book i am trying to quickly fill in the above rows in the column.

    Removal of the header row autofilter and changed the text in cell J1 to J from text

    This seems to add another "J" after the last non-empty cell

    I may not have explained myself clearly. I am trying to fill the empty cells in column D with first number encountered when going down the range -
    i.e. D6 = "2" so D2:D5 would = "2"
    D15 = "3" so D7:D:14 = "3"
