validation list without duplicates and blanks

please see the attached worksheet.
Column A contains some data.
Cell $B$1 has a drop-down box.
I want the drop-down box to show only the unique records in column A and skip the blanks.

Realistically you need a physical range that contains only the unique terms (can be done with formulae) and source the DV from that.

Using your example wherein the values are numbers:

If in reality column A contains values that are non-numeric then you will need to adjust the above approach - the above is based on your example.
