    Counting Clicks in Excel

I am trying to create a counter in Excel.....
Lets say I have 5 groups of 5 cells in each group.
anytime a cell in group one is clicked I want a separate cell to keep a total count for that group..... then anytime a cell is clicked in group two.... I want there to be a total for group two.....but also......if I am clicking in group 2, I want all other totals to return to zero and so on...so if will only be counting the current group that is being clicked.....
is someone able to help me with this project...
    I need detailed response please.

Can you click on the same cell twice in a row and have it counted, or do you have to click from one cell to another for it to count?

You can click the same cell over and over again...

Do they have to be cells, or can they be buttons? (there is no cell click event as such, so you would have to subclass, which is not always terribly stable)

they can be buttons if that is easier....
also... I forgot to mention.... well I am kind of confusing myself here.... but a button that is in group one may also be part of group 3...... I guess what I am saying is once I have the first part figured out... I may need a little more direction to modify it so I can account for that.

Would it be possible to let us know what end result you're trying to achieve? It may help us understand the problem.

    Re: Counting Clicks in Excel

this is a probability project that we are working on... so I guess the best reference would be the roulette wheel....so group one could be the red numbers and group two black numbers, group three could be odd numbers etc....I dont need to do anything with the probablility as one of my partners is working on some lesson plans for that. I just need to create something that will count the different groups and such...hopefully this makes sense.
