Conditional Formatting - reference another cell value

    Hi Guys

Need your help - I want to refence the value of a given cell in conditional formating (I dont even know if this can be done)

    so for example

Conditional formating set up on so that if i enter a given text value in a specified cell it automatically puts "-given ref number located in cel c4"

    Thanks & regards

You can't do that with CF in 2003. Can you post a sample workbook showing exactly what you want to appear and where when your specific criteria are met?

You would need code for that - is that an option?
When you say dynamic, do you mean that the format of all cells should change if you change C2, or that entries in A should pick up the prefix from C2 when they are first entered?

See attached. Enter a value in column A and the code will add the prefix if it's not already there.

You need to enable macros when you open the file.
