    Linking Excel to Publisher

Hello. I have a large spreadsheet containing several thousand parts for my business and their associated part numbers, cost, shipping, markup, retail price, etc. I also have a Publisher advertising document consisting of 50 pages with pictures of the products and a chart below the pictures containing several rows and columns displaying part numbers, shipping cost and retail cost. When my cost changes, I enter the new cost into the spreadsheet and the changes flow accordingly in the master spreadsheet. The difficult part is that I then have to change each table on each page of my Publisher document to reflect the changes in the master spreadsheet. I would like to insert a small part of the master spreadsheet into the correct Publisher document page and have that small spreadsheet update automatically when I make changes to the master spreadsheet. I am using MS Office 2010 Professional. Please tell me if what I would like to do is possible, and because I would like to know if I can do it myself, please tell me the procedure in very general terms. Thank you very much for your help.

    Re: Linking Excel to Publisher

You are most welcome. I am having issues with linking PowerPoint and Excel and was hoping to get help here without much luck. If it is strictly Excel help you need, you'll find it here and usually quite fast. Otherwise, good luck my friend. You might need to find help from someone who is a guru with VB.NET. I've read a bit on it and it is more appropriate for everything Windows, including Office. Either way, you'll need some coding done by either you or someone else as I don't think there are
    very general terms
Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong on this so keep watching.

    Good Luck

Hi, thanks for your input. I have been able to sucessfully link my files by using the "paste special" function. I got good info here: http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00593.htm . What I am struggling with now is how to link only parts of a spreadsheet containing thousands of items to my Word or Publisher doc which only needs references to several items in my inventory.

You need to be more specific in your explanation, maybe add the code or example files
    Hope that helps.
