    Saving spreadsheets from a macro

    Hi all!
    I am new to this forum, I like to work things out for myself but this problem has been driving me nuts!
    I have a macro which files a copy of the spreadsheet containing the macro to a folder and file specified within the worksheet then the worksheet closes.
    What I would like to do is save the file as a copy and close without closing the original.
    The code below is what I am working with:

    Use SaveCopyAs instead of SaveAs.

    the book remains open, as I intended, the file is generated but has no .xls extension, I know the file is a spreadsheet and the right one to boot if I open with exel and selecting from 'all file types'

    I have resolved the small issue of file extension by concatenating .xls in the file name reference cell
