Referencing a master file

Hi,
I wanted to know if there a way to reference a master file.

For example, if I change and save something in the master file, then all files (probably more than 100) that reference to that master file will change accordingly without any slow process or having to open any files.

There is one thing I would like to add.
The master file will remain in same place all the time, so the path is constant
Some cells have a dynamic data validation from the master file in them

Any way on how to do this?
