    Simulate "Very Hidden" columns

    Hi

I want to disable unhiding columns on a worksheet.
I don't want to lock/protect the entire sheet, as I want to give users flexibility to add/delete columns as they like.

Is there a way to prevent users from un-hiding hidden columns, without locking the entire worksheet?

P.S.: As a work around, I am planning to copy this sheet to another VeryHidden sheet, add these two columns on this VeryHidden sheet, and reference these from the VeryHidden sheet in lookups on my un-hidden sheet, but I feel this is un-necessary.

The protection options available should really be adequate without attempting to mess up user settings
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks Roy

I tried it. In attached sheet, I checked the "locked" and "hidden" options for the column I want hidden (B).

In "Protect Sheet" options, I selected all options under "Allow users of worksheet to" except "Select Locked Cells".

But, it doesn't seem to work. I can still unhide and view column B after protecting the sheet.

Can you tell me which protection options can I use.
