look up date, search date, return a sum

    Hello fellow forum users,

I've attached a spreadsheet with my issue. I've attempted a Lookup and a Pivot table, but can't get it to work.

I want to calculate the number of sales for my staff in a designated week, by inputting the date in a Summary sheet, then it looks up that date in the Data sheet, and adds up the individual 5 days of a week.

Hope that makes sense. Happy to elaborate further if anyone needs more information.

    Thanks in advance.

    =VLOOKUP(A5,Data!A$2:LA$6,MATCH($A$4,Data!$1:$1,0)+1)
    in B5 and copied down.
