    Matching Cells problem

    I need some advice as to how to approach the following problem.

    I have a worksheet laid out to show the length of certain aluminum parts. It is very common that some of the lengths will be the same, but we may drill holes in different places (aka preps) so the end product is not the same. Now I may be going through 100 parts and not realize that sometimes I may repeat a part. So i may have 2 or 3 parts the same length AND the same preps. So what I would like to do is the following:

    Cause a Cell to turn a certain color when all of the relative cells ALSO match.

    Cell: A1 = 36"; A2 = PREP F; A3= 45, [SHEET 2] C1 = 101; C2 = 200, C3 = 300
    Cell: B1 = 36"; B2 = PREP Z; B3= 33, [SHEET 2] D1 = 105; D2 = 202, D3 = 302
    Cell: C1 = 36"; C2 = PREP F; C3= 45, [SHEET 2] E1 = 101; E2 = 200, E3 = 300

    How would I go about doing this? Can it be done with conditional formatting? Thanks in advance

    your configuration is not clar. how is sheet1 and how is sheet 2. what is the connection between them.
    how do you want duplicates to be colored
    a1=36,a2=36
    a3=37
    a4=37
    how are the two sets of duplicates to be colored.

    re: Matching Cells problem

    Ok, let me try to be more clear. Each size is associated with a number called PartMark. so

    Cell: A1 = PART-001; A2 = 36"; A3 = PREP F; A4= 45, [SHEET 2] C1 = PART-001;C2 = 101; C3 = 200, C4 = 300

    Cell: B1 = PART-002;B2 = 36"; B3 = PREP Z; B4/B]= 33, [SHEET 2] D1 = PART-002; D2 = 105; D3 = 202, D4 = 302

    Cell: C1 = PART-003;C2 = 36"; C3 = PREP F; C4= 45, [SHEET 2] E1 = PART-003;E2 = 101; E3 = 200, E4 = 300

    Sheet1 one stores the size and Sheet 2 stores the preps, I hope this helps. I'd actually like the cell to turn Red not just the text which is why I'm thinking I would need to use the conditional formatting.
