    creating a daily log sheet

    I need an Excel sheet that will allow me to input a code in one cell and have the coresponding price show in another cell, then have the prices all add up in yet another cell

    Hi jbos242,

    Here's my take on it:
    • You'll need a data table where you list the input codes and corresponding prices.
    • You'll then need a formula referring to the input code and the data table to grab the right price.
    • Finally, use SUM to calculate the totals.

    There are several ways to lookup information from a stored table of values. Check out this sample sheet:

    IndexMatch-Simple.xls

    ...check out the MAIN sheet, it shows several formulas that do this.
