    Macros in Personal.xls

Okay, I feel really stupid, but I can't figure this one out.

As I come across nifty macros that I want to use in multiple spreadsheets I record them in my personal.xls. For some I've set up a macro shortcut. Today I went to use a macro to unhide all hidden worksheets, and couldn't remember the shortcut. I'm able to run the macro manually, so all is not lost, and I could delete and recreate the macro with a new shortcut, so I can certainly get around this problem. However, if it happens once I'm sure it will happen again.

So, my question is, how do I view the shortcut key I've assigned to the macro? Everywhere I look online it says to open the Macro dialog box, select the macro in question, and go to the Options button. Well, for some strange reason I don't have that Options button. How do I get it back?

Also, is there a nifty macro that would generate a list of my macros with the shortcut keys assigned?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide on this.

    jomili,

    See:
Create a list/table of contents that includes the names of all macros in a workbook, and perhaps if there are shortcut keys assigned?

    Hello jomili,

Are you saying the "Options" button on the macro dialog is missing or is it grayed out?
    Sincerely,

    Stanley,
I appreciate the link, but it showed everything EXCEPT the shortcut.

    Leith,
The "Options" button on the macro dialog is missing, not greyed out.

    jomili,

    Did you:
In VBA, go to the Tools menu, choose References, and put a check next
to "Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility 5.3".

    Re: Macros in Personal.xls

Yes I did. As I said, the macro worked just fine the way it was supposed to. It showed every module, plus every macro that was in each module, plus whether it was subform or not. That's all the macro Chip Pearson put on the post was supposed to do; he didn't (as far as I could tell) even address the issue of how to find the shortcut key.

I'd like to. Unfortunately they have us locked down very tight here, so I can't download anything.

    jomili,

That is a shame, because the addin does work - I just tested it.

That is probably why "Options" does not show, or is greyed out.

    Stanley,

Thanks for the article! The download doesn't work for me, but the trick of exporting the module does. I'd about given up on this one, so thanks for pulling it out of the woodwork.
