REALLY hard chart to make! S.O.S.

    Hello everyone,

I've been at excel for quite a while, but I am having MAJOR trouble making a certain type of chart for a presentation I'm doing.

I am trying to make a candlestick chart from two separate data sets using only a RANGE of numbers. I want to make them into equal quintiles with the ranges for each year.

    For example:

I have A and B's range of returns (not ALL the returns, just the top 20%, mid-top 20, middle 20, middle bottom 20, and bottom 20.

So say for A's I have"

    Quintile 1 = 45.5 - 220.2%
    Quintile 2 = 45.5 - 17.6%
    Quintile 3 = 17.6 - (6.7)%
    Quintile 4 = (7.5) - (30.6)%
    Quintile 5 = (30.6) - (98.6)%

I want those ranges to be in a candlestick chart for the last 10 years of this data. This is of course only one year's worth.

Remember I only have that range...not the individual data sets. So I only have the highest and lowest point per quintile.

I realize I can do the simple, yet very very tedious math, and create a dummy data set for each as to create the top 20% having the range I am given. But there HAS to be an easier way!

Thanks for your help everybody. First post on this site, looks like you guys know what you're doing!
