Automation of Solver: Must inputs be derived from cells?

Hi

I'm trying to automate the solver using a vb program. I have found this example which is just about spot on for my needs:

My question is do I have to refer to cells in a worksheet? Is there a way to use values from an array in vb instead?

For the above example instead of:

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

Could I somehow use something like:

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

From Help:

SetCell Refers to a single cell on the active worksheet. Corresponds to the Set Target Cell box in the Solver Parameters dialog box.

ByChange The cell or range of cells that will be changed so that you’ll obtain the desired result in the target cell. Corresponds to the By Changing Cells box in the Solver Parameters dialog box.

Also, I'm a dummy.

Varying the cells in the array will not change the target cell. No change = no solving.
