form control to grey out unused rows

Is there a macro that will format unused rows or with no value in a given range. I have a sheet that I am using that some of the date is either added or deleted and would like to have a macro to do grey out unused rows. I am using this with a form control. any information would be helpful. thank you.

A macro could be written very easily, but perhaps easier still (and more automatic) would be simple conditional formatting.

Upload an example and we'll be able to tell for sure.
