    Vlookup "handouts"

Is there anyone who can send me handouts on how to use Vlookups? I can no longer find a thread that I saw last night on this forum where an instructor at a college offered handouts on Vlookups.

The thread was authored by an end user who had the same issues that I recently had with Vlookups. The issue was that Vlookups returned incorrect data on a few rows. So, I want to learn more about how to better use them or determine if there are instances where they simply do not work.

    My e-mail address is back_in_the_1980s@hotmail.com.

I don't know about handouts but, in fact, Excel help does a pretty thorough job of explaining VLOOKUP....or look here for some more detail

If you get a result from VLOOKUP , i.e. not #N/A, but you think that result is wrong then often that's because you are using VLOOKUP with a final argument of TRUE or 1 (or no 4th argument at all) where lookup range is unsorted. If that's the case and you want only exact matches, on an unsorted range, try using FALSE as the 4th argument.....
