Random data being pulled into the wrong sheet ???

    Good afternoon everyone,

In my current file (as mentioned in my last post). I keep finding that a value from one sheet will randomly pull through to the same cell in another sheet. This keeps happening and i can find no reason for it. Unfortunately it is causing issues by overwriting formulas etc.

The cells that are affected are all the linked cells for drop down lists if that is of any help.

    Any thoughts ?

    Thanks

    Chris

    Hi Sniper,

Unfortuantley i cant send anything over due to the size (and the nature of the data in the file). The problem is that i cant even isolate the issue to send over as it seems to happen fairly randomly.

For example on sheet A i have a load of drop down controls for things like Month, Year, Start Date etc. The linked cells for these controls are hidden away on the same sheet. However on sheet B i find that the results (Month, Year, Start Date etc) are appearing in here aswell as in Sheet A. When they do this they pull through the formatting aswell as the value from the other sheet.

    Thanks

    Chris

Not sure if this will be helpful, but...

Do any of your macros use the .Select method? I've seen macros that use .Select accidentally selecting too many things, instead of just acting directly on the range they want to manipulate. I don't know that I've ever seen it with 3D selections, but its something worth checking.

Sort of a side question for anybody who happens by... Is there any good use for the .Select method? I've used it to provide guidance to the user by pre-selecting a particular cell at the end of the macro. Are there any situations that need it to function correctly?
