Why does Conditional format shading stop updating until save?

Almost seems like a memory problem or something- basically I have a sheet that highlight cells to show that they need to still be filled out if another cell in the same row has a number in it. What happens is that when you put the number in the row the cells won't become shaded or partially shade until the workbook is saved.. Maybe I can put some code in that tells the work book to update whenever a cell is changed?

P.S. Moderators- I was going to post this in the general forum but thought since a code may be used to fix this that I would keep it in the Programming section. Let me know if I should have posted elsewhere..

Here is some additional information as well as a picture of what is happening- P.S. the cell shading will also appear if I change the zoom level as well as saving..

The work book that this occurs in has a 2 other sheets besides this one. I have also experienced this on another workbook that has a lot of cell shading conditional formatting going on..

Also, in the pictures in the gray columns "N/A" will appear based on an =If(F14>0,"N/A","") formula. The N/A will ONLY update when the workbook is saved.

Out of curiousity... did you check the Tools|Options >> Calculation tab to make sure Automatic is set on?

Also Note, that it is better to post the actual sheet so that we can test your concerns.. rather than guess.

I apologize for note posting the original sheet- however it does contain sensitive data... I would make an example sheet but it wouldn't be worth the trouble seeing as how there has to be a lot of data within the workbook in order for this problem to occur.. I was hoping that it was a common problem so I figured I would give it a shot without the example sheet

But anyways moving on, I checked the auto calculate option and it was set to manual.. go figure..

I set it to automatic and it works perfect! Thanks for the help..
